Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at King Saud University is a premier program designed to prepare professional nurses to meet the healthcare needs of the Kingdom.

Graduates are expected to demonstrate mastery in several domains aligned with the NCAAA and CCNE standards:

Clinical Excellence: Demonstrate proficiency in performing comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments and providing evidence-based nursing care to individuals and families.

Critical Thinking: Use critical reasoning and clinical judgment to prioritize patient needs and solve complex healthcare problems in diverse clinical settings.

Professional Ethics: Adhere to the Islamic and legal-ethical framework governing the nursing profession in Saudi Arabia, ensuring patient privacy and dignity.

Research Integration: Appraise and apply scientific research findings to enhance the quality and safety of nursing practice.

Leadership & Collaboration: Effectively lead nursing teams and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to manage patient care and health systems.

Health Promotion: Design and implement health education programs for the community to prevent disease and promote healthy lifestyles across the lifespan.

Technological Literacy: Utilize healthcare informatics and modern technology to document care, reduce errors, and improve patient outcomes.

Common First Year (CFY): Applicants must first be admitted to and successfully complete the Unified Health Track.

Weighted Score: Allocation to the Nursing major is based on a “Composite Score” which typically considers:

  • Cumulative GPA from the Common First Year.
  • Standardized Test Scores: A combination of GAT (Qudrat) and Achievement Test (Tahsili) results.

English Proficiency: Students must pass the required English language modules within the CFY to be eligible for the College of Nursing.

Interview/Medical Fitness: Some cycles may require a personal interview or a medical fitness report to ensure the candidate can handle clinical demands.
