Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify the impact of cultural, linguistic, social, and economic diversity within the family, as well as growth factors and individual differences, on the learning of individuals with special needs.

  2. Provide support and consultation to general education teachers in order to create safe, inclusive, and culturally and socially responsive learning environments.

  3. Employ appropriate instructional and behavioral motivational interventions to teach individuals with special needs how to adapt to different environments.

  4. Apply ethical and professional principles related to teaching, behavior modification, and the design of individualized educational programs for individuals with special needs.

  5. Use scientific research findings and both formal and informal objective assessment tools to make educational and behavioral decisions for individuals with special needs.

  6. Adapt educational experiences for individuals with special needs to suit their abilities, interests, and learning environments.

  7. Use assistive and alternative communication technologies and systems in assessment, educational planning, and teaching for individuals with special needs.

  8. Apply multiple educational and behavioral strategies to improve behavior, communication skills, and language development for individuals with special needs.

  9. Prepare diverse educational plans, learning experiences, behavior modification plans, and transition plans in collaboration with families of individuals with special needs and other professionals.

  10. Equip students with self-assessment and professional development skills that contribute to enhancing their ability to take responsibility and make independent decisions.

Requirements

UAE High School Certificate with 80% for Scientific Track or 90% for General Track, English proficiency (IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500 or EmSAT 1100), pass Mathematics and Sciences exam with 800 or higher
