Program Description

The Department of Medical Education is dedicated to producing highly qualified physicians who meet global quality standards and excel through a comprehensive blend of academic rigor, clinical expertise, and professional values. The department champions continuous learning, innovation, and research to elevate medical education and practice.

Professional and Practical Skills
Graduates will be able to plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching sessions, apply evidence-based practices in health professions’ education, utilize learning technologies, demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills, and exhibit professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive behaviors. 
Research and Analytical Skills
The program equips graduates to apply research methods in medical education, efficiently search databases, and critically evaluate research quality. They will also understand statistical methods for evaluating educational data and produce effective written communications like literature reviews and reports. 
General and Problem-Solving Skills
Graduates will develop the ability to solve complex educational challenges through innovation and strategic development and will be proficient in using software for designing and facilitating learning. 
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in medicine or a related health field from a recognized university.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of “Good” (2.75/5 or equivalent).
  • Achieve a satisfactory score on an English proficiency test, such as a TOEFL-IBT score of at least 61.
  • Successfully pass a personal interview and hold a valid career classification.

First Year – First Semester

MEDU102 – Learning and Clinical Teaching Methods – 3 Credit Hours
MEDU103 – Designing Medical Curricula – 3 Credit Hours
MEDU104 – Assessment and Evaluation in Medical Education – 3 Credit Hours

First Year – Second Semester

MEDU105 – Applying Technology in Medical Education – 3 Credit Hours
MEDU106 – Professional Development and Mentoring – 3 Credit Hours
MEDU107 – Leadership and Innovation in Medical Education – 3 Credit Hours
MEDU108 – Seminars in Medical Education Research – 3 Credit Hours

Second Year – First Semester

MEDU201 – Elective Course I (Simulation / Inter-professionalism / Faculty Development / Professionalism) – 4 Credit Hours
