The department of language and translation prepares students to become professional translators. Through training in appropriate translation techniques, research methodologies, and other necessary skills, such as editing and reviewing, UOB students are prepared in accordance with professional international standards. Today, translators are in high demand. In the Gulf, our graduates who speak Arabic as a mother tongue and two or three other languages, are highly demanded, as translation into Arabic happens on a daily basis at all levels of communication. Translators are also in high demand in Europe and the US where the knowledge of Arabic, French, Spanish along with English is considered a significant advantage at a time when the Arab region occupies an essential place in the geopolitics of the world.
