The program aims to prepare (academicians) distinguished in academic scientific research in Applied Linguistics by providing an incubating learning environment (an environment that nurtures learning) for (with aim to excel and be a pioneer) excellence and uniqueness in scientific research.
Program Description
Research Expertise: The ability to conduct original, high-quality linguistic research that addresses contemporary challenges in second language acquisition (SLA) and sociolinguistics.
Curriculum Development: The capacity to review and modernize existing language programs in alignment with global developments in teaching and learning requirements.
Academic Leadership: Qualification to teach graduate-level courses and provide effective supervision for university theses.
Technological Integration: Proficiency in applying modern technical developments and AI tools to linguistic research and language training.
Problem Solving: The skill to identify complex language-related problems and devise evidence-based solutions grounded in scientific foundations.
- Academic Degree: A master’s degree in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of “Very Good” (3.75/5.0).
- Language Proficiency:
- An overall Academic IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent TOEFL iBT).
- A minimum score of 6.0 in the Writing section of the IELTS (or 23 in TOEFL iBT Writing).
- Entrance Exams: Applicants must pass a written examination held by the department and, in some cases, a personal interview.
- Documentation: Submission of two academic recommendation letters and a Statement of Purpose outlining research goals.
