Program Description

The program operates on a combined system of coursework and a specialized research thesis. It aims to foster the discovery of novel therapies and innovative research to improve public health

Graduates are expected to master advanced scientific principles and research methodologies, achieving the following outcomes:
  • Independent Research: Capability to design, conduct, and expand the scope of modern scientific research independently.
  • Critical Inquiry: Advanced skills in analyzing, interpreting, and critiquing complex pharmacological and toxicological data and literature.
  • Advanced Expertise: Deep understanding of receptor mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, molecular pharmacology, and the discovery of novel therapies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on mastery of experimental techniques, including in-vivo testing on laboratory animals and advanced laboratory research models.
  • Professional Communication: Ability to prepare and present scientific findings in professional settings, such as journal clubs and research seminars.
  • Commitment to the Unified Regulations for Graduate Studies in Saudi Universities.

  • The applicant must hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacology and Toxicology), or a Master’s degree in a related field of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

  • Obtaining a score of 500 or above in the TOEFL, or an equivalent score in the IELTS, prior to the commencement of studies at Level One.

  • Successful completion of a personal interview in accordance with criteria determined by the department.
