Program Description

To offer an educational and research environment that equips our academic cohort with advanced research skills through our commitment to fostering innovative research in health administration, contributing to a knowledge-based economy, and supporting the realization of health in VISION 2030.

The program aims to develop distinguished graduates with expertise across three core domains:
  • Advanced Research & Analysis:
    • Mastery of advanced research methodologies and critical thinking to solve complex health administration challenges.
    • Ability to conduct original research that contributes to the scientific knowledge base and real-world industrial advancements.
  • Operational & Strategic Leadership:
    • Skills to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity within the health sector.
    • Proficiency in developing leadership and talent acquisition strategies for contemporary healthcare contexts.
  • Policy & System Innovation:
    • Capacity to analyze and navigate global and local healthcare policies, focusing on safety, quality, and fiscal responsibility.
    • Ability to address contemporary issues in health administration and lead transformational change in health systems.

The applicant must hold a master’s degree in health administration or one of the administrative or health specializations from King Saud University or any other university recommended by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a grade of no less than “Very Good” and a cumulative GPA of no less than (3.75/5) – if from a university that awards such a grade.

Obtain a score of no less than (6) on the IELTS test or its equivalent

Submit a proposal outlining the study’s purpose.

The applicant must pass the written examination administered by the department.

Program Credit Structure

The degree requires a total of 48 credit hours:

  • Coursework: 36 credit hours of graduate-level courses

  • Dissertation: 12 credit hours dedicated to the research thesis

Health Organization Behavior – 3 Credit Hours

First Year – Second Semester

Funding Models – 3 Credit Hours
Health Insurance Program Management – 3 Credit Hours
Advanced Topics in Healthcare Quality – 3 Credit Hours

Second Year – First Semester

Qualitative Methods – 3 Credit Hours
Research Methodology and Biostatistics – 3 Credit Hours
Change Management and Innovation – 3 Credit Hours

Second Year – Second Semester

Dissertation Research – 6 Credit Hours
