Program Description

The department is committed to developing the scientific and clinical skills of its students within an advanced educational environment that combines diverse practical experiences with excellence in scientific research in accordance with the approved research plan.

  • Knowledge Integration: Identify and apply knowledge from biological, behavioral, and medical sciences to investigate and meet complex healthcare needs.
  • Clinical Reasoning: Synthesize theories and principles to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop evidence-based nursing care plans.
  • Professional Practice: Adhere to ethical principles, legal standards, and professional norms of nursing practice while advocating for patient rights and safety.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Use a range of therapeutic communication techniques and work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Leadership & Management: Develop leadership strategies for effective service delivery and participate in the audit and improvement of healthcare services.
  • Technical Proficiency: Execute clinical skills and procedures according to established technical standards and utilize nursing informatics for data-driven care.
  • Lifelong Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, using self-reflection and appraisal to enhance future performance.
  • High School Background: Applicants must have a secondary school certificate from the Science Stream.
  • Standardized Tests: Admission is based on a “composite score” calculated from:
    • High School GPA: Typically requires a minimum of 90% or higher for competitive health tracks.
    • General Aptitude Test (GAT/Qiyas): Measures verbal and quantitative reasoning.
    • General Achievement Test (SAAT/Tahsili): Evaluates knowledge in core sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Common First Year (CFY): Students are not admitted directly into the nursing major. After completing the CFY, they are assigned to nursing based on their GPA and available seats.
  • English Proficiency: Since the program is taught in English, students must demonstrate proficiency (e.g., IELTS or TOEFL).
  • General Criteria: Applicants must be medically fit and under the age of 25 at the time of application.

Internship Year

After successful completion of all 8 academic levels, students must complete a mandatory clinical internship in affiliated hospitals.
