Learning Outcomes

-Knowledge and understanding

Familiarity with up-to-date knowledge and information in the field of governance in the public sector and public policies.

Acquire scientific knowledge of strategies for implementing governance in the public sector and public policy analysis.

Identify global and advanced indicators and standards in the field of governance and public policies.

-Mental skills:

Ability to link and analyze information when dealing with public policies.

Ability to solve problems arising from the challenges of implementing governance in the public sector.

Linking theory to practice in dealing with variables in governance and public policy topics.

-Professional and practical skills:

Master basic and advanced management skills in governance in the public sector and public policy at the leadership and executive levels.

Using modern means to improve professional practice in governance and analysis of public policies for administrative leaders and executives.

Develop and evaluate methods of applying governance and analyzing public policies in governmental and non-governmental agencies, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the strategic objectives of the State.

Ability to communicate effectively with different administrative levels in governmental and non-governmental agencies and decision-makers.

Organization and effective distribution of tasks and responsibilities.

Familiarity with the methods of decision-making within groups and work teams in various circumstances.

Enhance the skills of coping with difficult circumstances, crisis management and change management.

Requirements

In addition to the admission requirements contained in the unified regulations for graduate studies in Saudi universities and the organizational and executive rules and procedures for graduate studies at King Saud University, the department requires enrollment in the following program:

– The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from a university recommended by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in related disciplines such as (public administration, economics, accounting, political science, law, finance), with a grade of at least (good).

– The applicant must have at least (one year) practical experience in government work or the private sector.
