Program Description

The department’s curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with missing or deficient teeth and oral tissues. It emphasizes the use of modern technologies, including digital dentistry and advanced biomaterials.

  • Clinical Competence: Graduates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and managing cases involving removable, fixed, and implant prosthodontics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Students develop advanced psychomotor skills for tooth preparation, impression making, and the use of CAD/CAM systems (e.g., CEREC, Zirkonzahn).
  • Scientific Research: The program fosters an environment for creative research and medical innovations of national and global value.
  • Professional Values: Learning outcomes include a strong emphasis on professional responsibility, ethics, and patient communication in line with universal Islamic values.
  • Labor Market Readiness: Objectives include updating academic programs to meet accreditation standards and ensuring graduates are prepared for competitive health professional roles.
  • Academic Standing:
    • MSc: Minimum GPA of 3.25/5 (Above Average) overall, with at least 3.75/5 (Very Good) in specialty courses.
    • DSc: Minimum GPA of 3.75/5 (Very Good) in undergraduate or master’s degrees.
  • English Proficiency: A minimum score of 61 on the TOEFL-IBT or an equivalent Academic IELTS score.
  • Professional Certification:
    • Completion of a recognized dental internship.
    • Obtainment of occupational classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Departmental Exams: Applicants must pass both a written examination and a practical/applied test held by the department.
