1. High School Academic Requirements

Admission requirements vary according to the high school curriculum completed by the applicant.

British GCE / A-Levels

  • Advanced Entry (3-Year Track): Minimum of 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects with a grade D or higher, plus 3 A-Level subjects with grades CCD.
  • Direct Entry (4-Year Track): Minimum of 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects with a grade D or higher, plus 2 AS-Level subjects or 1 A-Level subject with a grade D.

American High School Diploma

  • Advanced Entry (3-Year Track): Minimum overall Grade C average (70% or 2.5/4.0) and an SAT score of 1,100.
  • Direct Entry (4-Year Track): Minimum overall Grade C average (70% or 2.5/4.0). No SAT score is required.

CBSE / ICSE (India) Grade 12

  • Advanced Entry (3-Year Track): Minimum positional grade score of 10.5.
  • Direct Entry (4-Year Track): Minimum positional grade score of 7.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

  • Advanced Entry (3-Year Track): Minimum overall score of 25 points.
  • Direct Entry (4-Year Track): Minimum overall score of 21 points.

UAE / Arab Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama

  • Advanced Entry (3-Year Track) is not available.
  • Direct Entry (4-Year Track):
    • Elite/Advanced Track: Minimum 70%
    • General Track: Minimum 75%

2. English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency.

Advanced Entry (3-Year Track)

  • IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 86, with minimum scores of 18 in Reading and Writing and 17 in Listening and Speaking.
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 62, with a minimum of 54 in all communicative skills.

Direct Entry (4-Year Track)

  • IELTS Academic: Overall score of 5.0.
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 40.
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 42.

3. Mathematics Competency

In accordance with UAE Ministry requirements for Social Science and Psychology programs, applicants may be required to achieve an EmSAT Mathematics score of 600 or provide an approved equivalent qualification.

4. UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) Equivalency Requirements

As UOWD degrees are accredited in the UAE and internationally recognized, applicants must complete the required document attestation procedures.

Students from Private Schools within the UAE

  • Must obtain an official Certificate of Equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Education confirming successful completion of Grade 12.

Students from Schools Outside the UAE

  • Academic certificates must be attested by:
    • The issuing Board of Education
    • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of issue
    • The UAE Embassy in the country of issue

5. Required Application Documents

Applicants must upload the following documents through the UOWD Admissions Portal:

  • Certified copies of secondary school transcripts and Certificate of Completion.
  • Official English language proficiency test results (IELTS Institution Code: AE109 / TOEFL Institution Code: 7907).
  • A clear color copy of a valid passport.
  • Emirates ID (for UAE residents only).
