Program Description

Interior design is considered an artistic specialization and has an engineering nature in terms of building finishes, works on furniture designs and what is related to the interior spaces of buildings. Interior design is considered one of the very important disciplines in improving people lives due to what the specialization does to facilitate the use of the spaces within which people move in our daily lives by designing well-thought-out interior spaces for the users of the place.

  1. Obtaining initial design strategies, methods and mechanisms.
  2. Developing awareness of the sources of information and specialized expertise in the technical, aesthetic and scientific fields, and how to evaluate and apply them in the context of interior design.
  3. Applying analysis and critical judgment which deals with the aesthetic aspects and the technical requirements of the building and the different needs of the user.
  4. Developing the cultural awareness of design within the contemporary and global framework.
  5. Exploring the initial level of the concepts of spatial, graphic design, furniture and fixtures.
  6. Testing the possibilities of the design proposals in line with the human needs.
  7. Developing confidence using communication, presentation and oral skills.
  8. Using modern tools, methods and modern techniques to implement the interior design.
  9. Dealing with the interrelationship between the interior design and the various systems of building and construction.
  10. Taking into account lighting systems in the environ mental design systems.
  11. Applying the basic technical design concepts in order to solve the design problems related to the systems of electrical and mechanical specifications and the systems of the environmental control, ventilation and fire protection.
  12. Training on the use and development of the competitive methods and solutions for the existing and the new buildings which will contribute to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the interior designs.
  13. Defining the role of the managerial designer and his/her collaborative responsibilities in the designs team.
  14. Producing the technical documents that help implementing a design proposal in an integrated form.
  15. Evaluating materials and methods of implementing the construction projects.
  16. Conducting the economic analysis and cost estimates related to the design.
  17. Recognizing the social and ethical responsibilities that affect the designers work.

Minimum 60% in Scientific, Scientific – Medical Field, Scientific – Engineering Field, Scientific – Pure Sciences Field, Literary, Comprehensive Health Education, Informatics Administration, Sharia.
