Program Description

Bachelor of Science in Digital Construction Engineering and Management integrates modern technology with civil engineering principles to prepare engineers capable of managing construction projects using digital technologies

Upon graduation, an AUS graduate in digital construction engineering and management should demonstrate an ability to:

  • identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science and mathematics
  • apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental and economic factors.
  • communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  • recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  • function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks and meet objectives.
  • develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  • acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies

For Bachelor: High school diploma with minimum 80% average, English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80), SAT test. For Minor: Enrollment in AUS bachelor program with cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher

The curriculum for the BSDCEM program includes core components of civil engineering, construction management courses, and specialized digital technology training. The degree plan includes the following areas of study:
  • Digital Technologies: Implementation of BIM principles, 3D mapping, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Virtual Reality (VR) applications, and smart technologies for defect detection.
  • Engineering Fundamentals: Problem-solving and design aspects inherent in civil engineering.
  • Management Skills: Essential skills related to leadership, teamwork, project administration, resource management, and financial management for construction.
  • Core Subjects: Topics may include structural engineering, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resources, and environmental engineering.
