Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Upon graduation, an AUS graduate in computer science should demonstrate an ability to:

• analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions
• design, implement and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline
• communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts
• recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles
• function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline
• apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions

For Bachelor: High school diploma with minimum 80% average, English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80), SAT test. For Minor: Enrollment in AUS bachelor program with cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher

• Programming Fundamentals: Students learn core programming principles and languages like Python, Java, and C++.
• Mathematics & Logic: Coursework in discrete mathematics, calculus, linear algebra, and statistics provides the logical and analytical foundation for the field.
• Data & Algorithms: Focus on data structures, algorithms, and efficient data manipulation.
• Systems & Architecture: Topics include computer architecture, operating systems, distributed systems, and computer networks.
• Software Engineering: Principles of software design, development lifecycle, project management, and quality assurance are covered.
• Theory of Computation: Study of formal languages and computational theory.
