Program Description

The program aims to assess the nutritional needs of the community in both health and disease, contributing to the promotion of public health and the reduction of nutrition-related diseases. It also seeks to graduate specialized professionals capable of effectively improving community health by applying the latest scientific concepts in medical nutrition therapy and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive medical care.

  • Clinical Assessment & Evaluation: Ability to accurately assess and evaluate the nutritional needs of diverse individuals and groups across the lifespan.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Competence in designing and implementing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy (MNT) plans for treating and managing chronic and acute diseases.
  • Scientific Research: Mastery of research methodologies and the ability to apply scientific findings to improve clinical nutrition practices and community health.
  • Professional Communication: Skill in communicating complex nutritional information effectively to patients, their families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Public Health Promotion: Ability to develop and lead nutrition education strategies aimed at disease prevention and improving community-wide nutritional status.
  • Critical Thinking & Ethics: Strong problem-solving abilities paired with a deep commitment to the ethical standards and professional conduct required in clinical settings.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the program:
  • High School Qualifications: A secondary school certificate (Science Stream) or its equivalent.
  • Standardized Tests (Composite Score): Admission is based on a weighted composite score:
    • Cumulative High School GPA: Typically weighted at 30%.
    • General Aptitude Test (Qudurat): Weighted at 30%.
    • Scholastic Achievement Test (Tahsili): Weighted at 40%.
  • Common First Year (CFY): Students are not admitted directly into the major. They must first complete the Common First Year for Health Sciences.
  • Major Allocation: Assignment to the Clinical Nutrition major happens after the CFY and depends on the student’s GPA during that year and the availability of seats.
