Program Description

The program aims to build students’ cognitive skills as well as their analytical abilities in English language and translation. It also stimulates an effective engagement in constructive scientific research.

  • Students will acquire a profound understanding of basic translation and interpreting principles, strategies, and methods, aligning with international standards for language translation.
  • Students will critically evaluate and apply major theories and schools in translation, linguistics, and literature, demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of critical approaches within the field.
  • Students will develop cultural proficiency in the socio-cultural contexts associated with Arabic and English languages, ensuring culturally sensitive and accurate translations.
  • Students will demonstrate advanced language skills, including vocabulary, terminology, and idioms, enabling them to produce high-quality written texts and engage in coherent conversations in English.
  • Students will proficiently utilize various resources and computer-assisted translation tools, staying abreast of technological advancements in the field.
  • Students will apply theories of linguistics and translation in discourse analysis, utilizing a deep understanding of linguistic principles to enhance translation accuracy.
