Program Description

The bachelor’s degree program in Architecture and Interior Architecture provides a unique multidisciplinary structure to prepare graduates for critical involvement with real practice in the field and enhance their awareness and sensitivity to social responsibilities, sustainability, and environmental intervention, the preservation and enhancement of the built heritage, plus the benefits of research and innovation.

The Architecture and Interior Architecture program provides bachelor’s students with an understanding of fundamental architectural and management concepts, methodologies, and technologies as demonstrated by:

PLO 1: An ability to Instill the role of the design process in shaping the built environment and conveying the methods by which the design, urban design, heritage conservation, and landscape processes integrate multiple factors in different settings and scales.

PLO 2: An ability to develop the student’s skill to represent and communicate their design ideas using wide variety of manual and digital media as well as oral and written forms.

PLO 3: An ability to demonstrate a structured overview and critical thinking insights regarding the cultural, historical, theoretical and human aspects of built environment.

PLO 4: An ability to Introduce different research methods in the architecture, interior architecture, landscape, built heritage conservation and urbanism fields including fostering individual and team leadership and inclusive environments.

PLO 5: An ability to explore and use current and latest construction technologies, building systems and building information modeling concepts and techniques in developing creative design process.

PLO 6: An ability to focus on integrating various building systems and technologies necessary for functional building performance concerning the design solution including mechanical, electrical, acoustical, illumination and other related systems.

PLO 7: An ability to understand and apply the various codes, specifications, and regulations governing the construction and building processes management locally and globally including best professional practice, ethical ,legal, financial and social responsibility.

• The Jordanian General Secondary Certificate or an equivalent certificate with a minimum
average of 80% (Scientific Stream) for applicants to the B.Sc. Program in Architecture.
• Entrance Exam and Interview with Portfolio illustrating applicant abilities and development skills of the visual world using freehand sketching, photography, and computer media.
