Program Description
By the end of their training, residents are expected to:
- Obtain an accurate surgical history and perform a complete physical examination.
- Evaluate surgical patients and identify surgical problems.
- Develop diagnostic plans and operative strategies.
- Demonstrate skills in surgical techniques to master operative and non-operative procedures essential for a competent practice in general surgery.
- Recognize, diagnose, and treat common surgical emergencies.
- Recognize, diagnose, and treat postoperative complications.
- Develop a differential diagnosis and treatment plan for surgical patients.
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical decision-making skills.
- Participate in General surgery Grand Rounds and in Case Review Conferences.
- Promote continuous self-learning.
Medical diploma, certified secondary school certificate, official updated university transcript, passing colloquium exam for Lebanese, IFOM exam, 3 recommendation letters, personal interview.
