Program Description

To prepare specialists in the field of Architecture and Building Sciences with the ability to conduct research and acquire advanced knowledge, enabling them to participate in all aspects of urban development.

1-Knowledge and Understanding

– Demonstrate advanced knowledge in Architecture and Building Sciences.

– Understand the societal and environmental impact of Architectural solutions and sustainable development principles.

– Grasp advanced concepts in professional Architectural practice.

2- Skills 

– Conduct scholarly activities in the field of architecture and building science in order to solve advanced Architectural problems.

– Propose creative solutions for complex problems, and design systems by integrating technical, environmental, theoretical and professional knowledge in architecture.

– Assess and apply the state of art techniques, resources, and modelling, to complex Architectural practice.

– Communicate effectively both in written and oral forms to present design and management deliverables.

– Translate advanced conceptual thinking into resolved schemes that incorporate detailed and professionally aligned requirements.

3- Values

– Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of research and architectural practice.

– Enhance the concept of quality of life and strengthen the local identity and ability to engage in lifelong learning of Architectural field.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Academic Degree: Hold a full-time bachelor’s degree (at least 5 years) in Architecture or Architectural Engineering from KSU or an accredited institution.
  • Minimum GPA: A minimum grade of “Very Good” (3.75/5.0) or equivalent is typically required. Some sources mention “Above Average” (3.25/5.0) as a baseline, but “Very Good” is the standard for scientific colleges.
  • English Proficiency:
    • A minimum score of 45 in TOEFL-iBT4.0 in IELTS Academic, or 60 in STEP.
    • Some department-specific guidelines may require higher scores (up to 61 iBT or 6.0 IELTS) for certain tracks.
  • Standardized Tests: A score of at least 70 in the General Aptitude Test (GAT) for university students is required.
  • Documentation:
    • Statement of Purpose (approx. 500 words) outlining research interests and professional goals.
    • Two or three letters of recommendation from academic professors.
    • A current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
