Program Description
Understand foundations of international human rights law, develop human rights advocacy skills, understand international rights protection mechanisms, work with human rights organizations
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, acceptable GPA, English proficiency test, one recommendation letter
Requirements
The Graduate Diploma requires 18 credit hours.
There are four required courses:
LAW 509/5209 – International Law (3 cr.)
LAW 510/5210 – Introduction to International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (3 cr.)
And Two out of the following three courses:
LAW 513/5213 – The European System of Human Rights Protection (3 cr.)
LAW 514/5214 – Human Rights in the Middle East (3 cr.)
LAW 519/5219 – Human Rights in Africa (3 cr.)
The remaining two courses are electives. The Law Department’s approval is required for electives offered by other departments.
