Program Description

The Department of Ophthalmology provides advanced subspecialty services delivered by distinguished consultants and graduates highly qualified ophthalmologists to serve the community. The department regularly organizes scientific and educational activities and publishes in leading international journals, focusing on the latest advances in ophthalmology.

  • Clinical & Surgical Mastery: Trainees develop expertise in diagnosing and managing complex eye diseases, including performing specialized surgeries like cataract, glaucoma, and retina procedures.
  • Subspecialty Expertise: Advanced knowledge in areas such as Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and Cornea/Refractive Surgery.
  • Research Proficiency: Ability to design, conduct, and publish original clinical research.
  • Community Health: Contributing to national objectives for the prevention of blindness and providing primary eye care services.
  • Professionalism: Mastery of ethical principles, including informed consent, patient privacy, and compassionate care within a multi-disciplinary team.

– Medical Degree: Possession of an MBBS or equivalent degree.

– Selection Exams: Applicants must pass the MCQ Exam and a personal interview.

– Clinical Check: Candidates must pass ocular and medical laboratory checks.
