Program Description

The program focuses on preparing highly qualified specialists to develop, operate, and maintain complex medical equipment used in modern diagnosis and therapy. It emphasizes a “hands-on” technical approach while grounding students in the biological and scientific principles necessary to interface with the medical field.

  • Knowledge and Understanding: Applying basic sciences and engineering techniques to build, test, and operate biomedical equipment.
  • Cognitive (Thinking) Skills: Identifying, analyzing, and solving technical problems to design and implement, biomedical solutions, including data interpretation.
  • Interpersonal Skills & Responsibility: Operating within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining ethical standards and pursuing professional development.
  • Communication & Technical Skills: Utilizing modern tools for circuit analysis and instrumentation, alongside proficient communication and maintenance, including calibration and repair.
  • Common First Year: Successful completion of the Health Sciences track is mandatory. Major selection occurs after this year based on competitive ranking.
  • Weighted Score: Admission is highly competitive and typically requires a high composite score based on:
    • Cumulative High School GPA (90% or higher is standard for health colleges).
    • General Aptitude Test (GAT/Qudrat) and Achievement Test (Tahsili).
  • GPA Threshold: After the CFY, students are ranked by their first-year GPA for placement into the department.
