Community Medicine Unit

1- Technical and Research Competencies

• Research Methodology: Utilize appropriate health research methodologies to design and conduct studies that enhance the delivery of community medicine.
• Data Analysis: Analyze community medicine data using advanced statistical methods and apply specialized computer software for public health practices.
• Epidemiology: Correctly calculate health-related indicators and indicators of national health status.
• Problem Prioritization: Recognize, evaluate, and prioritize diseases and conditions of national concern within Saudi Arabia and the GCC. 

2- Leadership and Management Outcomes

• Project Leadership: Manage field projects, supervise staff, and allocate resources effectively while functioning as a team leader.
• Teamwork: Demonstrate collaborative skills and foster mutual respect within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Professional Communication: Develop high-level oral and written communications for scientific reports, community health messages, and educational materials. 

• Evidence-Based Practice: Educate other professionals in the principles of evidence-based community medicine and apply these principles to solve practical healthcare challenges.
• Health Promotion: Construct culturally effective health education materials and deliver scientific messages using various techniques and communication technologies.
• Ethics: Adhere to the highest ethical standards in community medicine practice and research.

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized institution with a minimum grade of “Good” (typically a GPA of 2.75/5.0 or higher).
• Clinical Experience: Successful completion of a one-year rotating internship is mandatory.
• English Proficiency: A minimum score of 61 in TOEFL iBT or 6.0 in IELTS Academic is generally required.
• Professional Status: A valid career classification and license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Sponsorship: A letter of release from the employer/sponsor granting full-time leave for the duration of the program (4 years for Board, 2 years for Master’s).
• Recommendations: At least three recent letters of recommendation on official letterhead.
