Program Description

Bachelor of Science in Intelligent Systems and Mechatronics Engineering integrates electrical, mechanical engineering and computer science to develop intelligent and complex systems

Upon graduation, an AUS graduate in intelligent systems and mechatronics engineering should demonstrate an ability to:

  • identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science and mathematics
  • apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental and economic factors
  • communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  • recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental and societal contexts
  • function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks and meet objectives
  • develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  • acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies

For Bachelor: High school diploma with minimum 80% average, English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80), SAT test. For Minor: Enrollment in AUS bachelor program with cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher

The program’s curriculum incorporates a blend of foundational sciences, core engineering disciplines, and specialized intelligent systems courses. Key subject areas include:
  • Mathematics and Physics: Foundational courses such as calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, and physics principles (forces, electromagnetism, dynamics).
  • Electrical Engineering: Topics like basic circuitry, microcontrollers, signal processing, and electronics.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Covers mechanical systems, design principles, and material properties.
  • Computer Science: Includes software engineering, programming, and data acquisition/analysis.
  • Specialized Mechatronics/AI: Core mechatronics courses involve sensors and actuators, control engineering, automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Students also develop essential soft skills related to leadership, teamwork, and project management.
