Program Description

The Bachelor of Psychological Science degree program equips students with critical thinking skills, statistical analysis proficiency, and research methods expertise. These skills are essential for careers in education, organisational psychology, corporate business, marketing, human resources, and clinical settings.

Hosting Institution

The Bachelor of Psychological Science, whether as a straight-through psychology program or combined with a major in any of the three areas of Management, Human Resource Management or Marketing is designed to provide the student with a solid foundation in psychology. This foundation consists of a broad and coherent understanding of the key concepts, principles, overarching themes and applications in psychology. In addition, students will acquire the competence to apply research methods and technologies in psychology, including research design, data analysis, interpretation and evidence-based approaches in a manner that is sensitive to cultural and individual diversity to answer questions derived from the science of psychology. Such scientific and critical thinking skills will prepare you for highly desirable roles in the professional world. The program will also equip you with ethical, professional, public and personal behaviours to function successfully within a wide range of employment contexts.

* High School Academic Entry Requirements

Your admission pathway is determined by your high school curriculum and academic performance. Students who meet the advanced entry criteria may enter the 3-year program directly, while others may enroll in the 4-year Direct Entry pathway, which includes an Integrated Freshman Year.

UAE Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama

3-Year Advanced Entry:
Direct advanced placement is not available.

4-Year Direct Entry:
• Elite/Advanced Track: Minimum 70%
• General Track: Minimum 75%

British GCE / A-Levels

3-Year Advanced Entry:
• 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects with a minimum grade of D
• 3 A-Level subjects with minimum grades of CCD

4-Year Direct Entry:
• 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects with a minimum grade of D
• 2 AS-Level subjects or 1 A-Level subject with a minimum grade of D

American High School Diploma

3-Year Advanced Entry:
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
• Minimum SAT score of 1100

4-Year Direct Entry:
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
• No SAT score required

International Baccalaureate (IB)

3-Year Advanced Entry:
• Minimum 25 points overall

4-Year Direct Entry:
• Minimum 21 points overall

India (CBSE / ICSE Grade 12)

3-Year Advanced Entry:
• Minimum score of 10.5 (calculated using top subjects)

4-Year Direct Entry:
• Minimum score of 7

Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency before commencing core 100-level psychology subjects.

IELTS Academic:
• Overall score of at least 6.5
• No individual band score below 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Listening, or Speaking

TOEFL iBT:
• Overall score of at least 86
• Minimum score of 18 in Reading and Writing
• Minimum score of 17 in Listening and Speaking

PTE Academic:
• Overall score of at least 62
• Minimum score of 54 in each communicative skill

Note:
Applicants with an IELTS score of 5.0 may still be admitted to the 4-year Direct Entry pathway and complete intensive English language modules alongside their initial foundation studies.
