Program Description

The Bachelor of Business in Finance degree curriculum is designed to reflect the critical techniques and skills used today in financial and corporate world with the focus on real-world issues to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and equip students with job ready skills. The degree will also provide the opportunity to explore alternative approaches to finance, based on application of emerging digital technologies such as blockchain, crypto, artificial intelligence thereby developing the ability to innovate and manage change, globally.

Hosting Institution

The major in Finance prepares graduates to make suitable strategic financial decisions by evaluating financial and non-financial information. Graduates are trained to apply problem solving and analytical skills in financial decision making. The program also equips graduates with job ready skills in valuation, equity trading, modern lending practices and financial services innovations like Fintech.

Completing this program will give several exciting career opportunities that include roles such as Corporate Finance Manager, Equity Trader, Business Partner, Corporate Financial Controller, Internal Finance Head, Fintech Strategist, Financial Analyst and Financial Consultant. The degree would open opportunities for employment in both public and private sector across the world.

*English Language Proficiency

Because all classes are conducted in English, you must submit an official score from one of the following validated testing boards:

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall (Minimum 6.0 in Reading & Writing; Minimum 5.0 in Listening & Speaking).
  • TOEFL iBT: 79 overall (Minimum 18 in Reading & Writing; Minimum 16 in Listening & Speaking).
  • PTE Academic: 54 overall with all communicative skill scores at 54 or above.

Note: If your score is slightly lower (e.g., an overall IELTS of 5.0), you are placed into the 4-year track or required to pass preparation courses through the International Foundation Year pathway before starting your major.


**Academic Entry Requirements

Entry is divided into the 3-year Advanced Entry track or the 4-year Direct Entry track (which includes a mandatory foundational Freshman Year).

The admission requirements vary depending on the high school curriculum and study track selected.

  • For students completing the UAE Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama curriculum, the 3-Year Advanced Track is not applicable. Applicants to the 4-Year Direct Track must achieve a minimum of 70% in the Elite or Advanced stream, or 75% in the General stream.
  • Students following the British GCE Curriculum are required to achieve CCD in A-levels along with 5 IGCSE subjects at Grade D for the 3-Year Advanced Track. For the 4-Year Direct Track, applicants need 2 AS-levels (or 1 A-level) together with 5 IGCSE subjects at Grade D.
  • For the American Diploma curriculum, applicants to the 3-Year Advanced Track must obtain a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (70%) in addition to an SAT score of 1100. For the 4-Year Direct Track, a GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (70%) alone is sufficient.
  • Students completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) must achieve a minimum overall score of 25 points for the 3-Year Advanced Track, while 21 points overall are required for the 4-Year Direct Track.
  • Applicants from the CBSE India (Grade 12) curriculum must achieve a calculated score of 10.5 for the 3-Year Advanced Track, or 7.0 for the 4-Year Direct Track.

The UAE Ministry of Education dictates strict legal processing rules for all student records:

Certified Transcripts: Original high school graduation certificate stamped by your home country’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

UAE MOE Equivalency
: All certificates obtained outside the UAE public school system must obtain an official Equivalency Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education.

Identification Papers
: Clear copies of your passport, current visa, and your Emirates ID card (if residing inside the UAE).
