Program Description

Our Bachelor of Business major in Accountancy degree (previously known as Bachelor of Commerce: Accountancy) has been designed to adhere to accounting professional bodies’ requirements, the highest industry standards and forward-thinking practices. We create our accounting modules to reflect the critical techniques and skills used today in accounting positions around the globe. This focus on real-world issues and current demands ensures that the curriculum is relevant and applicable to the industry and job market. Hosting Institution

Typically, Bachelor of Business in Accounting graduates will be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). This program will prepare the graduates to gain skills and knowledge on the application of accounting software and technology to prepare financial statements and financial forecasts. Graduates would be able to make strategic business decisions by evaluating and analyzing the financial health and forecast of the organization. They will also be able to make suitable investment decisions with the financial and non-financial information.

Completing this program will give several exciting career opportunities that include roles such as Forensic Accountant, Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Internal Auditor, Budget Analyst, Payroll Manager, Corporate Controller, Financial Analyst and Financial Consultant. The degree would open opportunities for employment in both public and private sector across the world.

* English Language Proficiency Requirements

All undergraduate classes are taught exclusively in English. You must achieve and submit one of the following minimum language scores:
  • IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading and Writing, and 5.0 in Listening and Speaking.
  • TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 79, with no less than 18 in Reading/Writing and 16 in Listening/Speaking.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 54, with minimum communicative skill scores of 54.

* Academic Admission Requirements

The academic eligibility criteria depend directly on your specific high school curriculum.
  • UAE Curriculum (Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama): Elite or Advanced track requires a minimum of 70%; General track requires a minimum of 75% (Direct Entry only).
  • British GCE Curriculum: Advanced Entry (3 Years) requires a minimum of 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects at Grade D and 3 A-Level subjects with a grade profile of CCD. Direct Entry (4 Years) requires 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects at Grade D and 2 AS or 1 A-Level subject at Grade D.
  • American High School Diploma: Advanced Entry (3 Years) requires an overall average grade of C (70% or 2.5/4.0) PLUS a SAT score of 1100. Direct Entry (4 Years) requires an overall average grade of C (70% or 2.5/4.0) without the SAT requirement.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Advanced Entry (3 Years) requires a minimum of 25 Points. Direct Entry (4 Years) requires a minimum of 21 Points.
  • CBSE Grade 12 (India): Advanced Entry (3 Years) requires a calculated positional score of 10.5. Direct Entry (4 Years) requires a score of 7.

If you are seeking advanced standing status, you will need to submit an official academic transcripts showing all courses studied and the grades obtained, syllabus details (including information on course content) for the courses you have successfully completed and an explanation of the grading system.
