Program Description

A program that aims to benefit from the German dimension to provide students with a solid knowledge base in biomedical engineering, advance the university through applied biomedical scientific research, and connect the university to the biomedical industry by keeping up with current developments in the field of biomedical engineering in the local and international market.

Biomedical Engineering program graduate’s bachelor’s students with an understanding of fundamental biomedical engineering concepts, methodologies, and technologies as demonstrated by:

  • The ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  • The ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  • The ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  • The ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  • The ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  • The ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

To apply for admission, the following minimum requirements must be met:

a. Achieve a minimum high school average of 80%.
b. Submit an original or certified copy of the high school transcript for Tawjihi students in Jordan.
c. Students who completed high school in other Arab countries or who studied in international systems (IB, IGCSE/GCE, HSD, or SAT II) must provide a certified equivalency certificate issued by the Ministry of Education.
d. Provide two recent passport-size photographs, with the applicant’s name written on the back.
e. Submit a certified copy of the Civil Status ID and a passport data page (for Jordanian applicants), or a certified copy of the foreign passport from the respective embassy in Jordan (for non-Jordanians).
f. Male applicants must submit a copy of the Military Service Book—including the data page and deferment page. (Not required for non-Jordanian applicants.)
