Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Upon the successful completion of this program, the graduate will be able to:

Knowledge:

• Explain various concepts and principles in psychology and related fields.

• Relate the acquired information when interpreting psychological and behavioral phenomena.

• Identify elements and strategies of different types of thinking.

• Distinguish between various disorders and pathological conditions.

• Explain different theories in psychology and related fields.

• Employ analytical and practical skills in preparing and designing psychological tests, as well as counseling and therapeutic intervention programs.

• Apply various psychological tests and programs in the fields of assessment, counseling, and therapy.

• Use theoretical and practical knowledge to understand, analyze, diagnose, and treat certain psychological problems among both healthy individuals and those with disorders.

Psychology Study Plan

First: University Compulsory Requirements (6 Courses – 18 Credit Hours)

Second: University Elective Requirements (2 Courses – 6 Credit Hours)

The student chooses two courses from the following groups: Humanities & Arts, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology & Quantitative Analysis.

Third: Free Electives (2 Courses – 6 Credit Hours)

The student may select any two courses from the college or Psychology Program free electives.

Fourth: Department Compulsory Requirements (23 Courses – 72 Credit Hours)

Including: Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Psychometrics, Research Methods, Statistics, Practicum, Graduation Project… etc.

Fifth: Department Elective Requirements (6 Courses – 18 Credit Hours)

Including: Learning Difficulties, Talent & Excellence, Political Psychology, Environmental Psychology, Neurological Psychology, Health Psychology, Positive Psychology, Criminal Psychology, Psychology & Counseling of Aging, Differential Psychology, Special Topics in Psychology… etc.
