Program Description

Cyber Security constitutes a strategic objective worldwide, with the main aim of securing information and communication assets. Organizations across all industries are faced with unmanageable levels of cyber threats brought on by a changing threat landscape. UOWD’s Bachelor of Computer Science major in Cyber Security focuses on producing qualified technical aspects that can meet the national, regional, and international demands in information and cyber security.

* High School Academic Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security Major) is determined by the applicant’s high school curriculum and academic performance.

Students holding the British GCE/A-Level qualification may be eligible for the Advanced Entry (3-Year Track) upon completing a minimum of five IGCSE/GCSE subjects with at least a Grade D, in addition to three A-Level subjects with grades of CCD.
For Direct Entry (4-Year Track), applicants must complete at least five IGCSE/GCSE subjects with a Grade D and either two AS-Level subjects or one A-Level subject with a minimum Grade D.

Students holding an American High School Diploma may qualify for the Advanced Entry (3-Year Track) with a minimum overall Grade C average (70% or 2.5/4.0 GPA) and an SAT score of at least 1,100.
For Direct Entry (4-Year Track), applicants must have a minimum overall Grade C average (70% or 2.5/4.0 GPA) without the requirement to submit SAT scores.

For students following the Indian CBSE Grade 12 curriculum, a Positional Grade Score of at least 10.5 is required for Advanced Entry, while a minimum score of 7 is required for Direct Entry.

Students completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must achieve a minimum of 25 points for Advanced Entry or 21 points for Direct Entry.

Applicants holding the UAE or Arab Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama certificate are not eligible for the Advanced Entry (3-Year Track).
For Direct Entry (4-Year Track), applicants must achieve a minimum score of 70% in the Elite/Advanced Track or 75% in the General Track.


* English Language Proficiency Requirements

All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

For the Advanced Entry (3-Year Track), applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • IELTS Academic overall score of 6.0, with a minimum score of 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
  • TOEFL iBT overall score of 79, with minimum scores of 18 in Reading and Writing, and 17 in Listening and Speaking.
  • PTE Academic overall score of 54, with a minimum score of 54 in all communicative skills.

For the Direct Entry (4-Year Track), applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • IELTS Academic overall score of 5.0.
  • TOEFL iBT overall score of 40.
  • PTE Academic overall score of 42.


* UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) Equivalency and Attestation Requirements

As the University of Wollongong in Dubai is fully licensed by the Government of the United Arab Emirates, all applicants must comply with the relevant certificate attestation and equivalency requirements.

Graduates of the UAE National Curriculum must have their high school certificates officially attested by the UAE Ministry of Education.

Graduates of private schools within the UAE that follow international curricula must obtain an official Certificate of Equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Education.

Applicants who completed their secondary education outside the UAE must have their certificates authenticated by the issuing educational authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their home country, and the UAE Embassy in that country.


* Required Supporting Documents

To submit an application through the University of Wollongong in Dubai Admissions Portal, applicants must prepare the following documents:

  • Certified copies of the high school graduation certificate and academic transcripts.
  • Official English language proficiency test results sent directly by the testing organization using the University of Wollongong in Dubai institution codes (IELTS: AE109, TOEFL: 7907).
  • A clear copy of a valid passport.
  • A copy of the Emirates ID and UAE Residence Visa (for applicants currently residing in the UAE).

If you are seeking advanced standing status, please submit an official academic transcript showing all courses studied and the grades achieved, syllabus details (including information on course content) for the courses you have completed and an explanation of the grading system.
