Program Description

The department has been instrumental in training pharmacists capable of discovering and developing new medications to treat various diseases. It also assesses the safety of pharmaceutical products, ensuring they are free from impurities that could cause illness or side effects in consumers.

Graduates of the program are expected to demonstrate high-level competencies in the following areas:
  • Advanced Research Design: The ability to articulate original research questions, formulate testable hypotheses, and select appropriate methodologies for complex pharmaceutical problems.
  • Scientific Contribution: Capacity to produce innovative research of a quality suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at international scientific conferences.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in using state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation such as HPLCGC-MSLC-MS, and various spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, FTIR) to solve pharmaceutical challenges.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of medicinal chemistry principles, including drug design, stereochemistry, structural elucidation, and the chemical kinetics of drug stability.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Advanced skills in applying biostatistics and numerical modeling to interpret experimental data in drug research and toxicology.
  • Ethical Leadership: Commitment to professional ethics in research and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in academia or the pharmaceutical industry.
  1. Holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) or a related Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  2. Achieving a score of 500 or higher on the TOEFL or an equivalent score on the IELTS exam before starting studies at the first level.
  3. Passing a personal interview according to criteria set by the department.
