Program Description
By the end of the fellowship, graduates should achieve the following:
- Clinical Competence: Ability to provide high-quality specialist services and perform complex radiological procedures, including interventional techniques.
- Diagnostic Skills: Proficiently interpret findings across all imaging modalities and correlate vascular or advanced studies with other clinical data.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the physical basis of imaging, equipment safety, and radiation protection protocols.
- Professional Leadership: Development into future leaders, researchers, and teachers in the field of radiology.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicate procedures, risks, and results to patients, their families, and the broader clinical team.
- A basic medical qualification such as the M.B.B.S or equivalent degree acceptable by King Saud University with minimum grade of “Good”.
- To have had successfully completed a full year internship period considered as one year of clinical experience.
- Passing a personal interview and an acceptance examination held by the department.
- Initial approval letter to enroll in the program from the applicant’s employer, and in case of acceptance, an approval letter to free the applicant to enroll for the whole duration of the program (For Employees).
- Upon successful completion of the final examination, the candidate will be awarded K.S.U Fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology.

Special Investigations
Contrast Media and Pharmacological Aids to Radiology
Radiological Emergencies
Second Year – System-Based Radiology I
Radiological manifestations of diseases of body systems
Application of all diagnostic imaging modalities
Third Year – System-Based Radiology II
Advanced radiological manifestations of diseases of body systems
Comprehensive use of diagnostic imaging modalities
Fourth Year – Clinical Radiology
Radiology in relation to clinical problems
Integration of radiological findings with clinical decision-making
