Program Description

The program aims to train future leaders in dermatology through outstanding clinical service, educational training, and rigorous scientific investigation.

  • Clinical Expertise & Reasoning:
    • Mastery of Diagnosis: Perform thorough, oriented history-taking and physical examinations to identify common and rare dermatological disorders.
    • Management Planning: Formulate reasonable differential diagnoses and select appropriate diagnostic tests and treatments based on detailed knowledge of drug indications and toxicity.
    • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced skills in skin surgery, laser therapy, phototherapy, and specialized wound care.
  • Scientific & Research Skills:
    • Research Design: Participate in clinical trials and laboratory research, with the ability to identify research ideas and collect, analyze, and present data for publication.
    • Critical Evaluation: Critically read and analyze published research to find its clinical application and validity in practice.
  • Professionalism & Ethics:
    • Ethical Practice: Uphold high ethical standards in the practice of dermatology and venereology.
    • Communication: Effectively communicate findings both verbally and in writing with patients and the broader healthcare team.
    • Continuous Development: Commit to lifelong learning and the continuous professional development necessary for high-standard care.
  • Community Health & Leadership:
    • Health Promotion: Engage with the community to promote skin health and prevent diseases.
    • Educational Leadership: Educate themselves and others in the field, preparing for leadership roles in academia or clinical practice.

Bachelor degree in Medicine or equivalent from recognized program.

First Year – Residency Level 1 (R1): Foundational Medicine

DERM101 – Basic Medical Sciences Rotation – 1 Month
IM101 – Internal Medicine Rotation – 6 Months
PED101 – Pediatrics Rotation – 3 Months
PS101 – Plastic Surgery Rotation – 2 Months

Second Year – Residency Level 2 (R2): General Dermatology

DERM201 – General Dermatology Clinics – 6 Months
DERMPATH201 – Dermatopathology – 3 Months
ALL201 – Allergy & STD Clinics – 3 Months
INP201 – Inpatient Dermatology Referrals – Integrated Training

Third Year – Residency Level 3 (R3): Subspecialty Clinics
