Program Description

The program covers the grammar of both languages, including morphology, syntax, and linguistic structures, as well as reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, which are taught in the department’s specialized laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art language learning and translation technologies. The program also covers both theoretical foundations and practical applications and offers various teaching methods integrating face-to-face, blended, and e-learning modalities.

  1. Distinguish the nature of read texts or audible discourse in Chinese and English and comprehend texts within context.
  2. Evaluate Chinese and English texts linguistically.
  3. Write a research paper in language or literature in Chinese and English.
  4. Communicate orally and write texts in Chinese and English in a sound language in terms of wording, vocabulary and grammar.
  5. Assess, analyse and criticize Chinese and English texts from linguistic and literary perspectives.
  6. Use the skills acquired from Chinese and English phonetics and phonology in pronunciation and speaking.
  7. Use information technology means to self-develop linguistic skills and literary appreciation in the two languages.
  8. Accept others and respect different cultures.
  9. Complete a given task or work efficiently, effectively and professionally.

Jordanian General Secondary Certificate with min 60% average in the following branches: Scientific, Scientific – Medical Field, Scientific – Engineering Field, Scientific – Pure Sciences Field, Literary, Comprehensive Health Education, Informatics Administration, Sharia, Commercial, Hotel, Household Economy.
